What We Do

We help people learn about tech through fun, friendly group activities. Through online and in-person activities, we give people the confidence and skills to participate in the digital world as creators.

Hive works in and out of education, with young people seeking to gain jobs in the thriving digital sector.

Our facilitators are friendly, supportive and skilled in fields like coding and digital design. They are experts in 'learning by doing': participants quickly get hands-on and try to make something work. Learning comes through trying, reflecting - and trying again.

Partner Projects

Since 2015 we have worked with the public sector, tech companies and charities to bring digital making to their communities.

Go Digital brought real-life tech skills to 9000 11 - 13 year olds in 50 Greater Manchester schools.  Our partners were Digital Advantage and InnovateHer, our supporters Greater Manchester Combined Authority.

We have run school holiday DigiCamps and weekend Hive Hacks for thousands of young people aged 13 - 18, from 165 schools and colleges in all 10 Greater Manchester boroughs.

Tech companies we've worked with include Cisco, Autotrader, Booking.com and Autodesk.
